My name is Christa Saunders and I am so excited to be on staff for the 2017 NC State Swim Camp for my second year! As an undergraduate, I swam and coached for Tribe Swimming of William & Mary. After a long struggle with chronic shoulder injuries and an unsuccessful shoulder surgery, I began my coaching career as Tribe Swimming’s volunteer assistant during my junior year of college. By my senior year, I was officially employed by William & Mary as the Tribe’s first ever undergraduate assistant coach. That year, our men’s team won the CAA Conference Championship, another first for the program. Upon graduating from my beloved alma mater, I moved down to Boiling Springs, NC and began the next chapter in my coaching career as the Graduate Assistant for Gardner-Webb University. In addition to the many hours per week that I spend on the pool deck or in the office, I also devote much of my time towards graduate classes where I strive to one day achieve my Masters in Sports Pedagogy (coaching).

Aside from my deep passion for swimming, here are a few other “fun facts” about Christa Saunders. I am the second oldest of eight siblings, most of whom still reside in my hometown of Culpeper, VA. We have one dog, a rambunctious husky named Kaya, who makes up the majority of our SnapChat stories and family pictures. When I’m not on the pool deck or in the office, I enjoy running, writing, cooking, and lots of Netflix. Once again, I am so excited to be a part of this camp and am looking forward to this summer!

Pack Swim Camp, LLC is neither owned nor operated by NC State University. Camp is open to any and all entrants of qualified age.
