Bobby Guntoro (Associate Head Coach)

Bobby Guntoro recently enters his third season as an assistant coach with the Wolfpack’s swimming and diving program, as he assists with the sprint and middle distance groups on a daily basis and recruiting. Prior to his position he spent three seasons as a graduate assistant coach with the team.

Guntoro has been a part of the program’s climb to the top of the national rankings, as he played a part in the men’s program’s three consecutive ACC Championship titles and top-10 program finishes at the NCAA Championship in 2015, ’16 and ’17.

He also helped the Wolfpack women to its first conference title since 1980 as the team ended Virginia’s nine year streak to win the ACC crown and its highest NCAA finish in program history, taking seventh. In 2016, Guntoro helped coach the women to a second place finish at the 2016 ACC Championship and eight-spot climb at the NCAA Championship, as the women finished 17th in 2015 and ninth.

In 2015 he received a masters degree in Master of Arts in Liberal Studies with concentration on Sport and Youth Development from NC State. Prior to his stint with the Wolfpack he served as a volunteer assistant at UNCW, helping the program to win its 11th-straight title in 2012 under former head coach Dave Allen.

Guntoro graduated in 2011 from UNC-Wilmington with an accounting degree and was a member of the university’s swimming and diving team. At UNCW he was a school record holder in the 100 butterfly and multiple relay events, and a multiple-time CAA Champion in relay events.
